walk from stoke newington, up cazanove road to upper clapton road, cross over and turn left and the second road on the right is springfield road which leads to springfield park. walk down through the park and over the canal and all of a sudden you are in a weird countryside with regular trains rattling over a false horizon.  in the spring it’s full of flowers, in the early summer the green is fantastic.  i just doesn’t look like london and certainly not hackney.
